A mystical skunk explores a woodlands of it's home while magical energy swirls all around. No mater if you feel that skunk is your totem or spirit animal or if you just have an affinity for skunk, this pendant is for you. The symbolism of the skunk includes that of a self-esteem, confidence, and sensuality. The skunk teaches respect for ourselves and to create an honored reputation. The scrolls and swirls on the skunk and in the background show the mystical nature of this spirit animal.

The overall totem animal pendant size is 1 3/4 inches by 1 inch wide, the tube bail is 3/4 of an inch wide, the skunk medallion is 1 inch round (a little larger than a quarter). The swirls in the background of the skunk are echoed in the swirl tube bail or you may choose the log tube bail which is perfect for the woodland theme of the animal pendant. Both bails are the same width, accept a thick 4mm cord and are Pandora friendly. A dark patina has been applied to enhance the detail and give contrast to this magical piece of fantasy jewelry. The angled view of the woodland pendant shows the dimension of the piece.

Want more options? I can also hang the skunk medallion from a bail that has an 8mm stone accent, $178.00. Want to keep it simple? Then I can just attach a simple jump ring that a cord can fit through, $98.00. Please contact me if you are interested in either of these options.

As with all of my work this piece of woodland jewelry is my original design was created using the lost wax method. I first start by doing a detailed drawing of my intended subject. Then I sculpt my design in wax. I start with overall shape and form, then adding detail such as facial features, fur and scrolls. After the wax sculpture is complete it is cast in sterling silver, excess metal is removed, rough polished, linked together, soldered, patina applied, then completed by a final polish and a coating of Renaissance Wax for a soft satin glow. It is a time consuming process, but one that I thoroughly enjoy. For more detailed information on my wax sculpting and casting process go to www.mystcswan.biz and look at the "Creation Process" and "Wax Sculpting" sections.

Yes, a skunk! When I was young and was with my aunt we smelled a skunk while driving. I was shocked when she said she always liked the smell of skunk . . . because it showed how little control we had on the universe. People can manipulate all these things, but we can't stop the smell of a skunk. Since then skunk has always had a special meaning for me, to be a bit of rebel, try not to be controlled by others or my circumstances and expect respect for the unique individual that I am.

Take the magical energy of this totem animal with you into everyday life.
